"If the Penguins do move up ten spaces I’m here for the conspiracy theories. They’ll be great."

hahaha heads will explode...tears will fly

I'm not so sure about trading these picks anymore...If I knew the new GM, whoever it ends up being, could move out some of the albatrosses, then I'd be more on board with using a 1st rounder to get a quality play now guy...however, I think its going to be a really tall task for whoever the Pens hire and I'm not holding my breath they can accomplish such things.

If you actually want Flyers/Pens games to be worth watching and want a reason to hate the Flyers, you should be hoping he goes to Philly.

If they get the 4th spot and get Michkov it does show how big of a joke the lotto is.

Well I have better luck than Ryan, I hit the Pens going up 3 times out of 50 and not going down at all. But Yeah, gonna be 14th o/a pick for sure. Unlike Ryan though, I only trade the 14th o/a if the Pens get a young player that can improve the team today. If not, they need to be stocking the cupboard.

So this Bedard kid is like Mcdavid 2.0 right? Similar style players?

I just hope the NHL rigs the draft for the penguins like the Hawks just did. Can’t have giant market teams rebuilding for too long.

Same exact thing that happened for NYR a few years ago

Giant markets don't almost get moved and can pay their players their salaries.

I agree, I dont think the whole "rig the draft to go to a big market" is the thought. Im sure the NHL is thrilled to see Bedard in Chicago, but him going to San Jose, Columbus, or even Arizona would've done a lot more for the league.

Look at what Pittsburgh was before and after we got Crosby. No way it would've been as big of impact if he went to a NYC team or Chicago.

I never fully believe in a 1st round pick until I see him in the NHL. Everyone thought this Laf kid the Rangers got was the real deal and he's pretty useless. Bedard is a category above him in terms of hype, but he's going to a successful organization so that will help.

Who are realistic trade targets with the 14th pick? A guy like Troy Terry?

Put it in a package with Carter and trade back

Carter and 14th overall for the 20th-ish overall

Nah I'd entertain that for Granlund. Carter has a NMC and isnt going to accept a trade. Best thing to do with him is buy him out.

He's a much more highly regarded prospect than Laf was, it's not even close. Up here in Canada the only other players to of been followed since they were kids, and regarded this highly, in the past 20/25 years are Crosby and McDavid....Tavares was pretty hyped as well but not at these levels.

Because Chicago landing a new superstar to replace Kane will bring in way more revenue than if he went to Anaheim or Columbus. It was either them or Philly, but Philly would raise way more eyebrows.

So it was rigged for Chicago, you mean?

Chicago is already one of the biggest markets in the league, why didn't they rig it to grow the game and sell out places that normally never would? I mean, the Red Wings have the 2nd biggest seated arena in the league...why did they get shafted not getting 1st overalls when they had great odds?

How would Philly raise more eyebrows? Chicago is tied up in scandals in recent history.

It’s about revenue. Not growing the game.

So it is rigged?

Why not give the Wings, with their 2nd biggest seated arena, some 1st overalls then?

Growing the game wouldn't bring in more revenue?
